Steven Chau, our new Social Director (as of October 1!) threw together an impromptu awareness and fun event for this month’s First Friday gathering in the Crossroads District. It’s a fusion of art, dining, music and culture that overflows from galleries, eateries, and into the street. Several CCCKC members pitched in with hardware, ideas, and skills to make the setup work. We ran a SNES, powered computer speakers and portable projector from batteries and an inverter, and cranked Tetris-inspired music (not entirely unlike what I used in the video) from an iPhone. This was partially because we lacked the audio cable to go from RCA to the powered speakers, and partially because insane speedmetal and techno remixes of the Tetris theme song are just that awesome.
The lighting was low, so we couldn’t get many good photos. I got some video of SNES-Era Two-Player Tetris action as well. Hopefully, we’ll have a live Tetris Tournament in the coming weeks. For the time being, enjoy the quick and dirty video.
