In an effort to satisfy the request from the unborn Makerbot:
“Help me to help you make things”
We have a list of the components we need to complete our Makerbot build on the wiki. To help facilitate the purchase of the remaining components, we got a visitor.

The Cookie-bot has joined the CCCKC Hackerspace from regions unknown.
There are only a few known facts about the Cookie-bot:
- His cookies are delicious
- 1 cookie= 1 dollar. Put it in his head
- All proceeds go to the Makerbot Cupcake CNC Machine
- The conversations between him and gustav are nothing but weird
Currently, the Cookie-bot has monster cookies for sale. Cookies cost $1 and the
money should go in the robot’s head. If the cookies run out, he has some backups at home, but please feel free to donate any of your own baked goods to
the cause. Payment will be based on the honor system, but I strongly
suggest that you do not anger the cookie-bot. (srsly)
About the Makerbot Cupcake CNC Machine
From BrePettis.com
What is the MakerBot?
It’s a 3D printer that takes a digital three-dimensional design — maybe it is a character that you thought up in your head or a part for your car — and prints it out in plastic. The plastic is like spaghetti, and it feeds into an extruder that heats it up to 200 degrees Celsius and squeezes it out. The machine then moves around to build the object you designed. The plastic is real-ly strong, like the stuff Legos are made out of. Basically, the MakerBot can make anything you can imagine.

CCCKC Member “Hevnsnt” has completed his fully DIY Compressed Air T-Shirt Cannon (Any correlation to the post directly below this one?)

“People go crazy for free stuff. When you shoot it at them they love it even more.
After a couple trips to the local “Home Improvement Store” you too can build this DIY Compressed Air T-shirt Cannon and launch t-shirts, hot dogs, or really any else you can fit it the 3″ wide barrel at your friends and neighbors.
Or take it with you the next time you go to “The Big Game” and shoot the T-Shirts BACK at the cheerleaders! Now that’s Team Spirit! (Don’t blame me if you spend the entire game in the Police station explaining exactly what your intentions where)
Features of this model:
* Interchangeable Barrels!
* Multi-Sources for compressed air (CO2 or Bike Pump)
* Lots of safety features! (Multiple ball valves, and a safety release valve)
Oh, yeah please be responsible — dont hurt anyone”

The Second Annual BarCampKC will be held on September 25th and 26th and CCCKC will be providing a great deal of operational support. BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from participants who are the main actors of the event. (Borrowed from BarCamp.org)
We’re just starting to put together the pieces, but I feel confident that BarCampKC will be a huge success and be one of the most unique experiences attendees will have this year.

CCCKC is devoted to giving back to the local community in any way that we can. People and organizations can serve their communities through time or money. As a young non-profit ourselves, philanthropy through donations is difficult to execute. What we can achieve is service by putting our collective technical expertise to work for other local charities.
To help achieve this goal, the Board of Directors voted to begin adopting one or two local groups for a 12 month period where we would focus our efforts.
Shortly after the resolution was adopted by the members, we selected JayDoc as this year’s partner. JayDoc is a free health clinic on the west side of Kansas City which is operated entirely by students at the University of Kansas Medical school. Over the next few months, we will be assisting them in the revamping of their web presense and helping guide the implementation of some new hardware.
We are very excited to be partner with such a unique local charity and look forward to serving other local charities over the next few years.
If you are interested in learning more about the service projects we will be performing or would like to volunteer your expertise, contact Jestin Stoffel whose contact information can be found at the Google Group.
